If you love honey, or want to know more about the benefits of honey, then this book is a must. I especially loved Chapter 11 called, “Home Remedies From Your Kitchen,” which lists 50 cures. I also love the way Cal Orey summarizes each chapter for you, under the heading, “Un-Bee-lievable Healing Hints to Catch.” Listed in Chapter 7 are the many flavors of honey, including a description of each type. Many delicious recipes are also included throughout the book. At the end sites are listed where one can purchase the various types of honey if they are not available where you live.

Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm

I’d used Burt’s Bees peppermint lip balm for a few years. Here in the “heartland” you’d better not be caught without something for lips and skin in general because it’s pretty windy here and the cold is beyond description. Anyway, I’d kind of grown tired of the peppermint version and, so, having recently bought the “thoroughly therapeutic” lotion which contains significant honey decided to try the honey lip balm.

Having consumed my fair share of honey, I was quite taken by the wonderful whiff of honey I detected as I uncapped the balm. I do not, ergo, agree with the preceding reviewer’s description of the item’s smell as one of baby powder and vaseline(?). Also, it was not long before I found it to be far more effective than the peppermint. My lips have become smooth and moist with no roughness from peeling. This makes sense to me since I know a little bit about the healing power’s of honey. And, I’ve only used it for about 3 weeks.

Now, mind you, the winter has pretty much faded away and so it’ll probably take the full brunt of next winter’s scourge to give it a real testing. In the meantime, I’ll continue to use it through the warm weather for therapeutic value and the great smell. Sniff– aaaahhhhhhhhh.

Ambrosia Pure Honey From Colorado’s Western Slope

The honey is exactly as described by the company. While it is unfiltered it is strained, which the company does state. So, if you’re looking for honey with pieces of honey comb and such this honey is not for you. The important thing is that they heat the honey at a lower temperature which preserves the enzymes (destroyed in supermarket type honey). Side by side comparison to store bought honey there are notable differences. It is darker than store bought honey (the darker the better), the taste is quite different, as well as a more natural texture.

So, if you are looking for a healthy honey without the pieces of stuff in it I highly recommend this honey!!!!!

Wee Bee Naturally Raw Honey

This stuff is great – I usually eat it right out of the jar.

My roommate picked some up in New york and I think it took us all of two weeks to run through the first jar.
It’s great in smoothies, tea, with raw cheese (mmm!), and with peanut and almond butters. I feel totally fine giving it to my daughter as a sugar replacement because it has nutrients and isn’t processed, and she likes it too.

I’ll also mention, anecdotelly, that I used to have some pretty severe food allergies. Now, there’s some research that suggests that eating raw, local honey may help boost your immune system and reduce your allergies to natural plants in your area. I wouldn’t put all that much stock into this concept, except that after I finished my first jar of this honey, I found that I could eat apples again! And Almonds! and raw veggies and even Hazelnuts, which I used to be REALLY allergic to! It had been over a decade since I had been able to eat these without itchiness, swelling, and nausea. It might be coincidence, but it happens to be the only thing I changed in my diet or lifestyle. Who knows?

Regardless, this stuff tastes great and you should get it for the taste alone if nothing else.

Manuka Honey Wild Ferns Night Revival Cream

I love this product. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks in conjunction with the skin blemish cream and both have been great. Before I started using this, my combination skin looked dull and lines on my forehead were more prominent than ever (I’m 30 and not ready for this). Now my skin looks plump and polished. I’ve been using this at both morning and night just because I can’t find a day time moisturizer that I like as much as this and it hasn’t made my skin too oily. I feel like I’ve just figured out a secret that’s been kept from me for the last 30 years. Great stuff!

New Zealand Manuka Honey

We love it!! It is sooo delicious – but even better – it’s healing properties are like oral tea tree oil – how cool is that!! Altho we consider it one of the most important medicinal things we can take each day – actually 1/2 to 1 tsp in the morning & at night to not only keep us healthy but also protected from all the “bugs” going around..inside & out – amazing when used under a band-aid!! I like to just hold it in my mouth and swish it around-even gargle a little before swallowing- not only to savor the flavor but again for it to work it’s anti-germ/viral magic on mucous membranes – also gets absorbed faster that way, too…A friend of mine mixes this very unique honey with Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar (it’s organic, unpasturized, unfiltered with the mother) as part of her ultimate health strategy!!)

Blomus Honey Glass with Silicone Spoon

I was looking for a honey pot that could be sealed (no dirt settling in through a hole in the lid) and one that was glass so I could pop it in the microwave if the honey crystallized. This honey pot is a masterpiece of design. The lid is a soft silicone, so it’s flexible and pulls off easily even when it’s a little stuck to the glass with gooey honey, and it conforms to the glass when you put it back. The “spoon” is a little larger than most honey spoons. Beyond that, the pot just looks elegant. A great addition to your kitchen!

Raw Organic Manuka Honey

I purchased this honey with the intention of healing my stomach which has been in a shambles for 20 years. I’ve been on every Rx antacid known, the last being Aciphex which is very strong and costs me $167 for 30 pills with insurance. I tried this honey after reading of its capabilities but believing that it was just a high priced scam, but I’m desperate for releif so I spent the $28. 3 days after eating 1 tsp on bread per day my stomach pain was gone. I couldn’t beleive it. I’m still waiting for it to return but it’s been a couple of weeks now and I feel great. In the past I’ve had to give up coffee, beer, spicy food, chocolate, etc. and still had gnawing pain. If you have stomach problems try this. I’m going to tell my Dr. about it.

This is a very tasty and healthy honey. It’s not cooked and is raw which provides more nutrition than Grade A honey( Any Grade Honey is Cooked and filtered). This Honey is really cheap for the price if you subscribe. The honey is not as sweet as clove honey or regular honey because its from gallberry and palmetto honey. I’m glad I tried it and will probably continue to buy this honey for what I use it for(Make honey lemon water, and etc) but if your looking for a sweeter honey look else where, this honey is a more balanced taste.

Great Lakes Clover Honey

Excellent taste to the Great Lakes Honey. I use this in place of sugar in lots of my recipes–salad dressings, breads making, sauces, honey butter, and many more. It is good plain on toast or mixed with peanut butter. We have used it on pancakes mixed with a little maple syrup. Possibilites are endless. I would buy this product again from Amazon not only because it was excellent but the price was too. And I love the big bottles!
